Doug,
The right hand hinge always feels as if it's about to fall off - the left
one should be stiff enough to hold the screeen at any angle but it does
loosen with use.
I try and avoid putting load on the right hinge because it's actually a
two-part plastic bit (both halves of the clamshell lid) inside a cup formed
from the base, so plastic is bearing on plastic - but it doesn't seem to
have harmed mine over the years!
