Subject: Hd swap

Having read a lot of differing opinions on swapping hd's in the lib 50 am
left in a bit of confusion. I have a IBM Travelstar DBCA, Specs say it is a
9.5 mm, the Toshiba which came out is the smaller dimensioned unit and
slides in and out easily. The replacement was quite a grunt to put in. Now I
am worried that it may cause some long term damage due to it's oversize
specs. In a lot of the post I noticed they made comment to removing a black
tape of shim from the compartment is this in reference to the black sort of
plastic film which I did not take out and believed to be more of a shield
than anything. The lib is working well just that in the back of my mind I am
nervous and thought I would seek the combined advise of the group. Look
forward to comments. TIA.
Douglas
