However, CardBus along does not give you any performance increase because the transfer rate on DVD movie is not high enough to saturate even the PCMCIA bus. It's the processor usage caused you. Unfortunately, unless your CardBus socket is bus-master capable, there is no much you can do to improve it. The only Bus- Master CardBus control chip I know is from TI.
