Date: Thu, 17 May 2001 16:34:51 +0800 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: A gesture of thanks to the contributors to this list In July 2000 I arrived in Kuala Lumpur, promptly acquired a Canon S100 digital camera and a 128Mb CF card, and put them in the week old backpack I'd just bought in Australia - together with the three month old Libretto 110 I picked up in Hong Kong. 10 months and 10,000 pictures down a long road around Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand (and a tiny bit of Cambodia), I'm beginning to feel I could live out of this backpack forever. The Libretto is also proving invaluable, and so gloriously multi-functional - photo-related duties, music, e-mail, study and research, to name but a few - that I've almost forgiven it for loosing my first 600 pictures when the HDD failed. As a TRULY portable computer for use with a camera - reviewing, selecting, and storing images; impromptu picture shows on beaches and buses everywhere; and now, uploading my snaps for all to see (including some tweaked to 800x480 for use as Libretto wallpaper) - it's ideal. As I've travelled, I've kept up with this list (which was a major influence in my decision to actually buy a Libretto in the first place) as best I could (this has doubtless been much appreciated by more than a few Internet cafe owners along the way) and have benefited tremendously as a result. It has been particularly invaluable to me as I've certainly had my fair share of problems, especially hardware failures and botched warranty repairs, which I've had to overcome - in foreign countries - along the way.
