http://www.billcotton.com/tripmate.htm I have use moving map and solar power
see my efforts at the above page.
I use a Noteworthy Auto adapter for my Libretto on my bicycle. 5 years ago
when this page was first published, I used the Libretto as a moving map. I
now use a Garmin eMap for moving map and use the Libretto to upload routes
on a mutiday trip. I now have 10 gig in the Libretto and plan to load four
map programs for my Trans-America bicycle tour next year, my 70th birth
year.
I get 6 to 8 hours on a charge of my 4amp hour batteries. Because the auto
adapter cut out at 11 volts and the Libretto will operate to about 9 volts.
I use the auto adapter to "jump start the Libretto from a gel cell when I am
on the road.
I have a small solar panel that would drive my Garmin GPS II+ with bright
sunlight while riding away from the sun. I had it mounted on the rear of the
bicycle and any shadow would cause the GPS to revert to internal batteries.

Vehicles, as far as I can tell, is try to maneuver then into and out of
parking spaces. I've noticed that these people often purchase just a couple
items - maybe a bottle of diet water and a two-ounce package of low-fat
dried carrot shreds - which they put into the back of their Subdivisions,
which have approximately the same cargo capacity, in cubic feet, as
Finland."
