Can't sell you the motherboard...but it it's definitely dead, and you have
some (lots) experience, and a very fine-tipped soldering iron...
The bits that get stressed are the original 16M of ram, and less frequently,
the connector for the expansion memory. You could try removing the expansion
ram and see if it works, in which case you got lucky (ish).
The ram chips are soldered in two layers on top of each other. There's a
fifty percent chance that it's a chip on the top layer (which are mounted on
sub-boards which bridge over the lower layer) and in that case you may be
able to fix by resoldering all the visible joints.
I've fixed two or three that way.
On the other hand, if it's a chip on the lower level, you can't get to the
connections without removing the bridges, and you *won't* do that without
specialist desoldering kit. I've never managed to repair one with that
fault...
Oh, and not related to your problem, but...at the other end of the board is
the video ram, which can suffer the same fault if you're heavy-handed with
the pcmcia cards. I've successfully fixed one of those, too.
