I used DOS 6.22, but it does not matter which FDISK you use. Every FDISK
which uses BIOS for disk access sees the disk size (but max. 8GB!) without
the hibernation area. It does not matter how big the partitions and logical
disks are, I created with DOS 6.22 a primary partition and an extended
partition up to the end of the seen disk.
Later in Win2K I was sure that the end of this extended Partition is the
begin of the hibernation area.

Once you know the position of the hibernation area, it is possible to delete
the partitions and logical disks below 8GB (created by DOS-FDISK) and create
them new with Win2k according to your needs.
