Subject: 100 lockup problem
I have been having increasing problems with my 100ct. It's 64m, 4gig drive,
_not_ overclocked.
It locks up after about 10 minutes of use. The screen freezes, and you can
not type or move the mouse. All you can do (that I have found so far) is to
power it off and restart.
Often when it attempts to restart, it does not see the hard drive. It dosen't
error, it just tries to boot off the floppy, and never appears to try the hard
drive.
Also, when it is cold, and I power it up, the "On" and "Disk" lights come on,
but the screen never gets power, and it never boots. I have to remove the
battery to get it to shut off, and put the battery back, and boot. It
_always_ boots on the 2nd try when cold.
Are these symptoms of a HD controller failure, or over heating? Has anyone
seen this before? Do I have multiple problems?
What are my options? Is there a good dealer/repair shop? Or should I just
scrap it and buy another? I _don't_ want to scrap it if possible as I don't
have $ or time to get another.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long message.
