"Setup', 'BIOS', 'CMOS'... yeah.

This was just a guess on my part. I've only used my 50CT that I've had
since Jan. 1998, and have never used the IR feature. But I remember a tech
once turned that feature OFF in BIOS. Every once in a while going through
my setup options I see it turned off there, and make a mental note to
remember that if I ever try to set something up that uses it.

You say that you have an 100CT. I guess Toshiba must have changed the BIOS
setup if you don't see it there. You have tabbed over each feature in BIOS
and looked at the submenus that pop each for some of the features, right?
Though I'm assuming that the 100CT's BIOS is set up lke the 50CT's. I could
be wrong.

I've frequently found that by removing devices from Device Manager, and then
rebooting a system (hopefully with IR set up to go in BIOS or otherwise) and
then booting it again with the W9X CD-ROM loaded and waiting, that the
device is frequently found and reconfigured.

But I'm surprised someone else on the list hasn't written back about this
issue. I've seen a lot of discussion on the topic.
