legends ... perhaps someone could now enlighten me as to the origins of the 'Hairy
Lightbulb' given that I HAVE tried to find out myself ;-)
Power has always been an issue on the Libs. One of the ways to save power
under windows is by changing the config in the Power Saver utility.
Start->Settings->Control Panel->Power Saver
If you bring that up, you will see some rather bad graphics of lightbulbs
with rays shooting out of them. If you select "Show power mode on the
taskbar" you will see a much smaller version of the same graphic on your
taskbar. It is so small there that it looks like a lightbulb that has hair
growing out of it.
And, just to stem the tide of requests for the others:
- Unscribble
This list is easy to unsubscribe from - if you follow the directions
EXACTLY. If you don't follow the directions, you send an email to the
group which demonstrates your mistake to everyone. "Unscribble" is the
funniest example of someone screwing it up.
- Miniskirts
This is the final subject of a thread that had so many tangents that it
was continued simply for the fun of it. If I remember correctly, some
list member's wardrobe was questioned... I leave discovering the
identity as an exercise to the reader (although raybot can probably
help!)
Man! I love this list!
ObLib: My 110 is 3 years old this month. Still use her ('Ophelia' as a
prior thread would tell you) everyday. Four linux installs, two
windows installs and currently running Win98 and RedHat6.2. I'm
about to try a NetBSD install - anyone with experience? I would
like to find a way to boot and install without a floppy or CD - as
I have for all the others...
