I did this two weeks ago on my L100 with 64M RAM. I did it to remove all the exception-handling etc. It took roughly 2 days worth of compiling, with QT being the worst. At the end of the day it works well, and 2.2.1 is much faster than 2.0 which was supplied with Mandrake 7.x... Now installing Mandrake 8.1 on my wife's PC (not a Lib - sorry) after she looked at the Windows XP system requirements and said "Buy another PC? No chance. I *will* learn linux now.". Wish me luck... neil barnes wrote: > Date: Wed, 31 Oct 2001 16:40:38 > From: "neil barnes" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: Re: [LIB] kde 2.21 > >> Date: Wed, 31 Oct 2001 15:18:46 +0100 >> From: Christian Gennerat <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >> Subject: Re: [LIB] kde 2.21 >> >> neil barnes a icrit : >> >> > Date: Wed, 31 Oct 2001 13:16:04 >> > From: "neil barnes" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >> > Subject: kde 2.21 >> > >> > For the curious: I've currently been compiling kde 2.21 from source >> for the >> > last day and a half on my 70, overclocked to 150.
