For those Windows users who would like to operate their Librettos using just the mouse buttons (e.g. with the lid shut), may I suggest looking at the freeware program PowerPro (available at www.windowspowerpro.com). This program allows you to create "button bars" that will send user-specified sequences of keystrokes to applications. For example, I have a button labelled "Speak" that attaches itself to the title bar of my Street Atlas (a mapping program) window. I put the cursor over this button, then close the lid (so the cursor stays over the button). Mouse clicks on this button then send SA the keystrokes that trigger it to speak (left-click for "next directions", right-click for "time to finish", chord-click for "current road"). The net result is that I can navigate without looking at the lib. The program is somewhat daunting at first sight (because it's extremely configurable), but has pretty good context-sensitive help.
