Hmmm... I managed to find where on the WinHex it displayed the sector that 
the offset was on...but I couldn't find a reference to cylinder.  I'll have 
another look.

Though I see that the sectors are counted from 0 on each drive, and I know 
that P.M. told me that partition began at 1010 and ended at 1040, which was 
around 250MB.  The hibernation area only took up about 14% of that space.

I know we're only talking about a few MB of wasted space here... but it's 
more of a challange that anything else to figure exactly how the HDDs write 
data, and see if I can put the hibernation area right up against the walls 
of data partitions.  I studied my nephew's Commadore 64's floppy disk drive 
manual years ago, but it's been a long time!
