Thanks, Dan,

I looked for it.

The problem with inexpensive devices is, that a lot of people want to get rid of it.
Palmax PD-1000 (but not PD-1100) sell very often on ebay, the new Picturebooks too
(1024x480 are probably not enough).

Devices optimally suiting your needs do not sell on auctions very often: everybody
wants to stick with them. Hard to get devices are Lib 1010 and 1100 models and Palmax
PD-1100.

I try to replace my 1 lbs HP Jornada 720 Handheld PC because of the F***WinCE. I was
looking for 2 lbs subnotebooks based on Windows2000/XP (SE in worst case) which could
replace the J720. Because I recognize the necessity of touchscreens for mobile devices
you can hold in one hand even if they are twice the weight of a Jornada, I like to buy
one of the following:
- a new Palmax PD-1100 with 6.1'' 640x480 touchscreen LCD (they are still available) or
- the used Libretto models 1010 with 6.1'' 640x480 LCD without touchscreen or
- the Libretto 1100 models with 7.1'' 800x600 LCD without touchscreen.

My heavy investigation is still ongoing and can grow again, because yesterday I found
a company promising to retrofit almost every computer with a touchscreen. I contacted
them and await their reply after the weekend.

I will post their name and reply here after reception, simply to avoid overloading
them with emails from all the mailing lists ;-)

If they confirm, we could do a bit powershopping, can't we? Or does anybody have other
suggestions? I would like to hear anybodies strategy.

Regards
Bernhard

a lot of my time to find informations about Libretto touchscreens. PS Communications

name. Maybe things have changed and new players have arrived.
