Bernhard,

After looking at some photos of the 1100 on the Amherst site, it appears to
have the same, or similar, Accupoint mouse as found on my lowly L100CT and
the other <L110CT Libs. While there is a learning, or more accurately, a
motor-skill curve associated with the use of these mice (mouses?), with use
they become quite familiar.

To attempt to answer your questions:
- Yes, the Accupoint can be manipulated fast and precisely enough to
negotiate menus while running one-handed.
- If, by track-point, you mean those eraser-tip deals imbedded in the
keyboard, IMO the Accupoint is far superior.
- The Accupoint would be adequate for the flow-charting software I've used,
but not for free-hand sketching, at least in my hands :-)

I would not attempt to do CAD work on the Lib (for lots of reasons, but the
mouse among them) but this, and free-hand work, are about the only limits.
Keep in mind that the Accupoint is not as easily manipulated or precise as a
good-quality standard mouse, but it is an excellent compromise. Good luck
with your search.
