If you make a boot disk using another PC with the same OS, then take a look at the config.sys and autoexec.bat files, you should be able to determine how to, and where to copy your CDROM drivers to have them install from the boot floppy. I did this with my L100 and W98SE and a Sony SCSI CDROM. Be sure to have the CDROM PCMCIA card plugged in as well as the floppy drive when you boot from the (modified) floppy. Good luck!
