OK has ANYONE here been able to get the 'SVGATextMode' utility working PROPERLY under Linux? Here are my modelines I've tried, they all 'work' until you switch to another console or to an X desktop and back ... once you switch back, you get the 'standard' size font (the 8x16 pixel fonts) except there were still the same number of lines (say 60 lines) so all you get is the tops of each character! The ONLY mode that seems to be reliable to any degree is the first one (but thats because it uses 8x16 fonts anyway).
