1) Walk the disk with WinHex to find out where the hibernation data is actually
being stored on your HD vs. partitions.  Easiest if you open notepad and type
in a unique text string to search on, eg "Librettos are wonderful!".

2) Win2K after maximum partitioning may have just jumped over the BIOS
end-of-8.4GB hibernation area.  Don't know until you test and see.

3) Just because the scandisk/whatever finds the HD to be intact doesn't mean
the data is.  do a binary file compare of the files vs. the originals to make sure.
