One for the linux gurus here. I suspect I already know the answer, but: I have a /home partition formatted with reiserfs (from the Mandrake 7.1) and in a subdirectory there is a file which appears to have no owner. I can't rm it, chown, or chmod it - 'i/o error' and trying to ls-la it throws a segfault (as does anything which tries to find its size). du also seems to show higher results than I'd expect, though I'm not certain of this. I'm getting other anomalous problems - directories which crash kfm when I try and erase them - and I'm also seeing 'cannot umount /home - busy' when I try to shutdown (though it does shutdown after three attempts. rieserfsck insists that all is well, but refuses to accept the -p parameter indicated in the man page. Any thoughts? Maybe this is a good time to look at Debian :) Neil _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com ************************************************************** http://libretto.basiclink.com - Libretto mailing list http://www.silverace.com/libretto/ - Archives -------TO UNSUBSCRIBE------- Reply to any of the list messages.
