Hi all Thought this *may* prove useful for someone else, so it can be added to the annals of history for the list. I bought my charger second hand because Toshiba US don't ship internationally :-(. The seller didn't include the little cable from the charger output to the Libretto's power input. Sooo.... If ever anyone needs to make up a new cable for the optional external battery charger PA2499U to connect from the charger to their Libretto 50 or 70, then you'll need a piece of 2-core wire with a different type of connector at each end. The Libretto 50CT uses a 3.1mm power connector, also known by Maplins (electronics store in the UK) as a JVC type connector. The charger output is a standard 2.5mm power connector. So you need one of each. Polarity is same on the input and output, so wire outside to outside, inside to inside. You need cable capable of carrying 2A. I'm using one grade up from the cheapest speaker cable, which is rated for 3A. Total cost? 49p for 3.1mm connector, 49p for 2.5mm connector, 24p for cable. 1.22. Last of the big spenders. Nick. PS - if buying the 3.1mm from Maplins, check that there isn't continuity between the outside and inside of the connector!!! There are faulty batches doing the round and, yes, I got one. Good job I checked as I don't know what would happen if the charger (or lib) saw a dead short! ************************************************************** http://libretto.basiclink.com - Libretto mailing list http://www.silverace.com/libretto/ - Archives -------TO UNSUBSCRIBE------- Reply to any of the list messages.
