Most of those devices require that their files need to be in a certain directory for them to see the files. For instance, my camera will not see any files that aren't in the \dcim\100olymp directory on the smartmedia card ... any files (in this case, .tif, .jpg or .mov) in any directory above or below this it just ignores. Have you tried copying files to the MP3 player using its docking station (and verified that the MP3 player can see them) then viewed the card in your computer? >I buyed the adapter as the headphone out on my lib cannot be used any more >- the >adapter 2.5->3.5 was broken while being inside, so there is a little part >of the >adapter blocking the headphone out. It may be more worth your while trying to fix that ... IIRC on the L50 the connector is held together by little plastic rivets which can be popped off easily enough ... then push the broken bit out and glue it back together. >So I had the idea to use the PCMCIA adapter to >copy MP3's from my lib to the SM-card to use it in the Creative Nomad >while being on >tour, because otherwise I have to take the NOMAD docking station as well >as the LIB >docking station (parallel connection). Seems not to be a good idea...? If you can't get the SM idea working then that may be what you have to do but that surprises me because the whole point of SM cards is interoperability. You may wish to check the Creative website to see if perhaps there are any other issues involved (for instance perhaps the MP3 player is in fact expecting some sort of compressed file format other than .mp3 which it automatically converts when you load it, and which you'd need to convert yourself if you were writing straight to the card) ... - Raymond --- /~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\ | | "Does fuzzy logic tickle?" | | ___ | "My HDD has no reverse.
