Mmm, I was rather hoping the solution was not to upgrade to a 100/110.

Librettos are rather seldom here in Norway, I have only seen two others on the
online auctions here. Ebay doesn't seem to be such a big thing here, I hear
and see people mentioning Ebay, but never actually buying something through
them. Anybody here selling? I have been thinking of trying to find a Portege
actually, as Librettos are non-existant here.

Re PCMCIA/PCcard: Most old cards are 16 bit/5V. A new standard was created
giving 32bit/3.3 V. To accomodate the old cards a dual power supply was
incorporated, delivering 3.3 or 5 V. To prevent new 3.3 V cards getting fried
in an old 5 V slot the keying was changed. PC-Card types usually also have a
earth strap across the top near the plug.

I know of one mixed up card: D-link's wireless card has a PCMCIA 5 V housing,
but only supports 3.3 V. Took me some while to find out why everthing
installed and was recognized, but still didn't work!

Re the USB adapter, I was hoping for a, say, LPT-USB adapter, or a network-USB
adapter. I suppose it's time to upgrade... :-\

Thanks,

br
Franklin
