Morning all On the front of this week's IT Week, there's an article that reads... Quote begins JVC to ship mini laptops Japanese hardware maker JVC is to enter the PC market in September with two ultraportables. It's XP Mini Note PCs weigh less than 1kg, feature 8.9" colour screens and run XP Processional. An 800MHz low-voltage Mobile Pentium III-M model will cost �1200. Battery life is two hours, or six with a second battery. Quote ends. A quick google reveals the following link; http://www.jvc-victor.co.jp/english/products/pc/MP-XP7210-e.html Headline news is the size: A5, which they then say is 225x152x28 which rises to 225x177x28 with standard battery pack installed. Now this is interesting regarding batteries. The "built in battery" provides 2 hours. Add the "standard battery" and you get 10 hours, but with a bigger notebook, and then finally there's an optional "extended battery" which gives 10 hours(!) Interesting. Verrry interesting. The lib 110 size is 210x132x35, and the L3 is 268x167x20ish. The XP Mini Note's screen runs 1024x600. The interesting thing is "FOR JAPANESE MARKET ONLY" on the English press release. Perhaps IT Week know something we don't as there's nothing on the JVC uk site. Potentially interesting. I'm just annoyed I'm missing out on the Fujitsu P2020.
