Subject: Li-Ion cell testing?

I know the easy way to get this working is to go ahead and buy new Li-Ion
cells. However, it strikes me as odd that I've got two High Capacity 110
batteries, and a Standard, and they're all dead. Am I wrong in assuming
that I can get 4 or 6 good, working cells out of the 16 that are floating
about these three packs?

If it's possible, does anyone have an idea as to how I would test the
individual cell? I can get a multimeter pretty easily, but unless I know
what to look for, it's somewhat pointless. And I'm fairly certain that this
wasn't mentioned in the archives (I just finished scouring them myself,) but
if you want to prove me wrong, please do :-)

Thanks,
CK
