Installed Proxomitron (adsubtract) and it's like I've added superchargers to my L70! This little P120 on a 56K dialup flies along now while using two IE windows to access Yahoo and Hotmail sites, and a 3rd to browse the Yahoo group for my MP3 player. All the flash is >gone<, and Proxomitron must be stopping the loading of ad graphics and flash before they try to load. I used to sit and stare into the HDD LED waiting ages for IE to process everything from one window before a page on the other would load. I wonder if Opera would speed things up on W98 even more like it did on Mandrake. Linux Netscape was incredibly slow on the L50 installation of Mandrake. Even when I put the drive in the L70. It was amazing how much faster Opera for Linux was when set it up. Just ran through the config documenation... There's a lot there I'll have to learn about since much of what's there I don't understand. Like what does it mean to, "enable SSL Filtering to use SSLeay .DLL files to filter Secure (https://) pages"? It warns something about online banking there. If it'd useful, I'll configure it, and turn it of to do banking. But 'out of the box', it's already improved my life online by leaps and bounds! Good call folks!
