Subject: Again off topic - Writing a SmartMedia card's CIS ...
I'm having a bit of an issue with a SmartMedia memory card ... I plugged it into my Libretto's PCMCIA converter just as it went into suspend and as a result, corrupted the first meg or so of the card. The problem is the card's CIS (card identification structure, stores a variety of information about the memory card) was damaged in the process.
With Linux, you don't need to write a new CIS, you can define a fake CIS. The PCMCIA package includes the dump_cis and pack_cis tools ************************************************************** http://libretto.basiclink.com - Libretto mailing list http://www.silverace.com/libretto/ - Archives -------TO UNSUBSCRIBE------- Reply to any of the list messages.
