Yes, it is a "deadline" not a deadpixel.....

Have a look on this photo, you will know what I mean!

Is it due to defect LCD? or some problem in display
circuit?

Possible to fix?

Please advise!!!
Ah yes, pick the geek ... Super Mario emulator (I'm surprised you've got that working on the L70!), UO map, mini modem, Olympus digicam ;-)

Seriously though, actually *fixing* the screen is unlikely to be a trivial matter. You could try and isolate the problem by pressing on various parts of the bezel and seeing if you can make that line go away or change or the like then disassemble the screen (links to the workshop manual which gives step-by-step instructions is on this list somewhere) and perhaps try slipping bits of paper or thick pieces of sticky tape into various areas and on various components so the bezel pushes against them, in order to put pressure on those areas and try and recreate the pressure pattern on the screen that caused the line to go away. Sure it's a temporary fix but it'd probably outlast the laptop as a whole ... I *wouldn't* take a soldering iron to the screen as it's more likely to cause more damage than good (these things weren't put together with your average 0.2mm fine tip iron!).

FWIW I've got somewhat the inverse problem with my L100 ... if I put pressure on the mouse area of my screen, the far left column of pixels gets stuck on green (but if I don't touch the screen it's all fine). I just hope it doesn't deteriorate ... heh
