Thanks for the thought, but it doesn't seem to be a problem with the capture
software, but rather a problem with the particular drivers that XP thinks it
should be using.

According to the Device Manager, what's been installed is a "Toshiba TsbVcap,
WDM Video Capture".  When I try and access the camera from any program, I get a
a long delay, followed by a black screen.  Seems like the driver knows enough
of the camera's commands to detect it, but not actually access it.  <grin>
Device Manager claims the device is operating properly, but we all know just
how little that means.

PS: For the person who asked how much memory I had in the machine, but whose
email I accidentally deleted before replying, the answer is 128MB.
