I concur. It's definitely the same appearance and I think Transmeta only had
it on display because there aren't too many PCs out there using a Transmeta
CPU, so they pulled a Japanese only model for display.

The Transmeta CPU is basically, IMO, a piece of junk. It performs at about
1/2 the rated CPU speed (thus a 800Mhz Transmeta = 400Mhz Pentium), doesn't
provide the user with any significant improvements in battery life vs. a
comprable Pentium at the 1/2 speed, and fools the user into spending $$$ for a
dog slow laptop.

People -think- they're getting the 4+ hour battery life from the amazing CPU,
but in reality, they're putting in bigger & better packs than before.

However, once you do the division math on the speed ratings and understand
that you will be buying a Transmeta that runs 1/2 the rating, then you'll be in
a good spot to decide if you do want that laptop or not.

They aren't very competitive with the latest low power mobile Pentiums in
terms of bang for the buck nowadays, which is why very few laptops even use
them - believe it's only 11 major laptop models actually use the CPU today out
of the hundreds of laptop models made today.

anyways, nothing like those 3Ghz laptops =) sure, battery life sucks, but
nothing like 3Ghz to go!
