I have an 1100. If I am remembering correctly, it has 64 mb on the main
board, and you can get a 64 mb expansioon card, but only in japan for > USD
$ 250 (as of ~10 months ago, at least), whereas in the states, kingston
memory sells a 32 card for around $75 (again, as of ~ 10 months ago.).

Brett bennett at http://shop.conics.net/ can get you info on the japnese
chips. I elected that they were ridiculously expensive, and got the 32 only.
I left the japanese version of 98se on it, and it runs great. Only problem,
and it is trivial, is that some more sophisticated software (eg office xp)
assumes you want it to run in japanese... even tho it is a us version...
somehow or another I had to tell it that I was inputting english, and then
all was well. Most apps, tho, no probs at all.

It's a grreat little machine. I have never used the camera except to test
it- it is not terribly nice, and have never used the remote. but as a little
laptop, it is great. quick stable and gets looks of envy.

ps for some reason i can't post to the list. would you pls forward this back
to the list. others might be interested. mike hodish
