  1) partion the primary bootable 2000 partition on your HD to be big enough to
hold Win2k after it's installed.  At least 500MB, 1GB minimum, larger if
possible.

     you can always resize it later.

  2) in any partition that's formatted, dump the entire /win2k install
directory from the CD onto the Libretto HD partition.

  3) run the setup for win2k from there, and it'll work like any other w2k
install.

  That's it.  works the same with win9x/me, too.

  ---

  If you have the above setup, you could install w2k from the hd to the
unpartitioned space (it'll format it during setup), too.  either way is okay.
