You should seek out memtest86 <http://www.memtest86.com/> and leave the
machine cooking for a couple of days (it boots from the floopy) to reassure yourself about the ram.
When I first got this memory upgrade, I did download that program as you suggested back then. And I >did< let it run for about 12 hours thinking that it would stop on its own. I ended up shutting it down, and >then< reading the instructions that explained that it would loop forever. :-/

It didn't find any problems with the memory, which as I recall, is the whole purpose of the software, to test memory. Would running it for another 36 hours be worth it?

Actually, what I was thinking of was some benchmark testing software that could take my entire OS on a ride. But I don't know if anything can really determine what it is about this L100 that just doesn't like my CF card adapter at all. Hecks... it's just a bunch of wires connecting the PCMCIA socket to the CF card. Si it's really the fact that the L100 doesn't like my Lexar CF card or Microdrive, and maybe >any< CF media as far as I know.
