Sounds a lot like the problem Lee and I were discussing in the 'problem device' thread in the past couple of weeks. Tho' were were dealing with W98SE, it may apply to W2K. See if you can find the link to the ACPI fix in Lee's first post in that thread.

Help.
I've seen notes about this problem in the past but I can't remember what the
fix is...
I've just upgraded / installed Windows 2000 on my Libretto 100 and in device
manager I've have an "Unknown Device" when I view the devices in connection
order is hangs off "Microsoft ACPI Complient System" Device can any one
point me in the direction of installing the correct device driver for this ?
