Right now with my L110, I'm running Mappoint 2002 off my HD with the Billionton GPS and AGPS 1.5xxx If I launch MP & AGPS in full power mode, I have the entire thing running just fine for me with the default settings. The only thing that updates every 2 seconds or so is my location cursor on the map. Once the cursor reaches the edge of the map, the map then does a full refresh. I can have it running in Medium Power setting by clicking on the Toshiba Power Icon, and it will still run fine - I've driven miles of highway this way w/o a problem and the location icon simply updates as normal. AGPS on auto map refresh, 2 second GPS refresh, no trails, no driving assistant, Windows 98SE w/64MB, 20GB Hitachi HD, and the entire MP database loaded on the HD. Runs perfectly for me, and I haven't encountered any problems with it for what I use it for. I can zoom in and out in Medium power mode, albeit with slow response of several seconds before the screen updates, but otherwise, no other problems. ---- If you're running W2k or XP, maybe it's simply the overhead of those OSs? I can't think of other reasons why it works just fine here and not there. also, I can take my L110 with me into the backyard, and once the GPS has locked my position, it actually can track my location and heading as I pace back and forth across the backyard in real-time without any map updating problems. When I'm visiting a friend at an apartment complex, it also tracks my movements from the parking lot across the complex right to his door accurately. ===== adorable toshiba libretto The latest news and information for the Toshiba Libretto owner. http://www.silverace.com/libretto/ __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
