Hi all, A brief report - just installed a Belkin USB2 PCMCIA card (model F5U222) in my L100 running W98se. The install went smoothly, and had to be run twice, once for each slot. The install software required a look at a .cab file, so it'd be good to have the W98 .cab files on your HD. Note that the card's documentation says that W98se (minimum) is required, and that W98 upgraded to 98se is not sufficient. Of course, it also says that a PII-266 is the minimum CPU, but all is golden with the L100's P166mmx. To answer my own question posed earlier, this card's need for external power is dependent upon the USB device to be connected. Only devices that draw lots of juice require the external power. My Olympus C-4000 digicam fortunately is not one of those, so photo downloads can be accomplished w/o nearby AC power or hauling around a power brick. I don't have any USB2 devices, so cannot report on those, but the camera works so I'm happy.
