(Digikey sell as a unit and 1800 maH) I get more than three hours from this package. I have a sealed lead acid that I use on long bicycle trips and I get 8 hours from this setup. I get my 15 volts from the power brick. I plug both the power supply and the external into the Libretto 50 when the external battery is discharge. I leave it this way until both lights are green. If I am ready to use this setup, I disconnect both, I then reconnect the external battery and both green lights comes on as if the Lib is charging. If I am not going to use external power, I only disconnect the external battery. However, as mention in other threads, the quit is without much warning. I have use this setup for 5 years and still have the original batteries. http://www.billcotton.com/tripmate.htm I don't have a picture of the SC cells but they are smaller than a C cell and the thickness of the Lib. So it fits behind my Lib in the Bible case that I used. // Bill Cotton: Latitude N40 03.756' W75 06.192' / / Phone 215 663-8363 Data 215 663-8364 // [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] // [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] // www.billcotton.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "barnacle" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Libretto" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, February 07, 2003 2:06 AM Subject: Re: [LIB] Battery Date: Fri, 7 Feb 2003 07:03:16 +0000 From: barnacle <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [LIB] Battery On Friday 07 Feb 2003 1:16 am, you wrote: > Date: Fri, 07 Feb 2003 02:14:29 +0100 > From: Julian Vassaux <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: Battery > > Hi all ! > I've got a Lib50 and I'm thinking of adding an external battery, as > explained on the fixup.net web site (the one with the led to get the 15V > to start the libretto). > I've seen I can have lead batteries for quite a few money, for example a > 3.2Ah for 20euro or even a 7Ah for 23euro (but this one is too heavy). > What do you think about it? IIRC your biggest problem - if you use a battery plugged into the power socket - is identifying when the battery is discharged. The lib silently switches to its own battery and when that's empty, it dies without any warning.
