So I tried, but since a few weeks for some strange reason some messages
to the list from me have never arrived.

Sure, the switches I outlined in a recent message work only from a DOS
box in Windows.

??? Not needed, when Win98 boots you can press F5 and you will be
presented a boot menu with "DOS" shown below. You can also hand-edit
msdos.sys (after making it editable with attrib -r -s -h msdos.sys),
search the Microsoft site or google for details.

The image of the Win98 stuff is one thing I would put beyond 8 GB
anyway...
