If Windows XP + SP1 can't work with the HD alone, you'll need some sort of disk manager program to get it to run. As for the error, no idea, but see the manufacturer's support website. Never had any disk manager program fail on me. (Oh, you must boot to the disk, use DOS, not a DOS window inside Windows, to install and use these programs.) --- No, the external enclosure won't do anything the OS can't do. Thus, if you only have XP (not XP + SP1) or other OS that doesn't support >137GB HDs, then you still can't see the entire external HD. You'll have to upgrade the OS and/or install disk manager first. A big reason to make sure you're running 2000 + SP4 or higher or XP + SP1 or higher or a disk manager on your PCs if you're thinking of putting in a large HD. Otherwise, stick with <= 120GB HDs. ===== adorable toshiba libretto The latest news and information for the Toshiba Libretto owner. http://www.silverace.com/libretto/ __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
