Ray, (and David, too), thank you for your replies. You have a clever idea with the floppy shutters that appeals to me. I am willing to try this, and if it doesn't work, all I have lost is a little time. Is there a technical manual for the 100CT that will guide me through the "take it apart" and "put it together" phases of this project? I am willing to take it apart, but I want to avoid ruining it. I guess what you do would depend on how you want it to look when it's done. If you want it to look 'new' (or rather, unbroken), I recon your best bet is to do what David suggested and order a new frame for it. However, if you're like me and want your stuff to show its battle scars that it's collected over the years (no, I don't go to the extent of INFLICTING the battle scars myself but if my equipment has them I don't mind them showing!), I'd suggest taking the front off and having a look and seeing if anything 'vital' has been broken (vital being anything that's stopping the screen from warping as the cover opens and closes). If it isn't too bad, I'd glue it back together with superglue and splints. One trick that works wonders is to use pieces of metal cut from the shutters of 3.5" floppy diskettes as splints - it's real thin (so even if you've got no space, you can get away with sanding the plastic down a little then gluing the splint in), plenty strong enough, you can cut them with an old pair of paper scissors and often the surface is rough enough to superglue to without further surface preparation (if not, a bit of work with some emery paper will fix it). I've had superglue stick to the stuff better than plastic! I imagine maybe three strips should be able to splint that break (or two pieces wrapped around the outside if you want to go for the 'seen plenty of action, field repaired' look!) ...
