  Don't see where the 2nd HD is going to come into play here... Maybe you meant
2nd partition?  If that's the case, then yes, you could make a 100% unaltered
backup by running Ghost from the 1st partition, and backing up the 2nd
partition.

  Otherwise, since Ghost v.9 needs to be installed into the W2k/WXP install to
work, no way to make a backup of the W2K/WXP install w/o modifying some part of
the current OS w/o another partition that has another copy of the OS.

  ---

  In Ghost 2003 or lower, simply boot the HD to DOS (if using EZ-Drive, let it
run), load up Ghost 2003 from the floppy, and make a backup.

  If not running EZ-DRive (eg. using W2K/WXP/Linux), then simply load up Ghost
from the floppy and make the backup.
