Works well, no problems. dirt-cheap at <$20 on www.ebay.com http://smc.com/index.cfm?event=viewProduct&localeCode=EN_USA&cid=5&scid=30&pid=427 > If so, what do all of you recommend, for maximum distance?? I'd get the latest SMC 802.11a/b/g PCMCIA high-output model - that way, you'll get a solid signal reception for sure no matter how bad the area is. more pricey, but works with the faster standards and longer-range. Otherwise, if you want to spend $$$, the latest Belkin Pre-N PCMCIA card (802.11a/b/g + pre-ratified N standard). Of course, the problem here is you may spend $$$$ on a card that simply can't work with the N standard once it is approved. Also, unless you use their Belkin Pre-N wifi hubs, you won't get any benefits out of this card beyond the usual a/b/g. --- All of them come with all the software you'll need. --- alternatives? ones that I've looked at recently that don't take up extra space: 1) 3COM XJACK wifi models. older 802.11b models on ebay.com cheap, but those have limited <300ft range. later models are okay, but $$. 2) Sony PCMCIA card with the L shape. The antenna on these are flush with the side of the Libretto when put into the top slot, so it doesn't catch on much. Again, limited range and $$ even on ebay.com. -- that said, my pick are the SMCs - easy-to-use software, works w/o too much overhead, and does the job on slower CPU Librettos. others like the Belkins overload their wifi tools with big pretty pictures and audio, but that's just slow and hogs spacs on the Librettos. ===== adorable toshiba libretto The latest news and information for the Toshiba Libretto owner. http://www.silverace.com/libretto/ __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
