What I meant is about something I enounter myself sometimes: I ask a question, get an answer I did not expect (because I had a wrong perception of the problem at hand) and had to ask several questions more before I found out the actual problem. So I suggest to check list archives first, just to get an idea of possible solutions and backgrounds and help save time and confusion. I did not mean to put anyone off, like happens on several usenet NGs (e.g., comp.os.linux.*) Philip
