has anyone checked out the latest? It looks very nice
about the same size as the 100/110. Has a P-M and usb
and all that. Kind of like the libby with a combo usb
2.0/firewire card installed. Its in black -- a very
nice color. I was looking at it as a 110CT replacement
but then I got movies working so don't see any need.
The main reason I was checking it out was the board in
the libby was manufactered by jvc so thought this one
would be a nice, long lasting computer like the little
libby. Plus its BLACK!! ummmmmmm.... anyway, I not in
any rush to replace my libby, I think she is very good
and since she does what I like anyway, she'll
probrably last forever. What I'd really like, if I was
going to replace my libby, is something more along the
lines of the IBM PC 110. Does anyone remember those?
Those were really cool--the thinkpad black with the
cutest little keyboard and it was so tiny you could
slip it anywhere. One would fit right it my coat
pocket and it even matched the black leather of my
coat:). It had a nice screen and everything. It had
lots of computing power because it had a 486 and and
plenty of memory and was very expandable because it
had lots of pc card slots. Of course it was all 16 bit
but one nice thing was it wasn't very expensive then
and something like it would cost even less today --
but because it wasn't expensive does not mean it was
cheap!! About the only thing I didn't like about it
was the dot pixal ratio wasn't adjustable, you know
from say 640x480 to 800x600 to 1024x748. (It seems the
lcd manufactures fall short sometimes in not includes
hardware features that are nice to have!! I mean all
they have to do is include the extra lines which is
like 2 chips--about 2 dollars!!) not everyone needs a
huge screen to see!! But hopefully someone will see
the light and bring a pc 110 like computer back with a
1024x748 screen, ddr and a P-M. from my research it
can easily be done and get 10 times the batteryt
life!!
