while others may have problems, I've been running my 98 setup just fine for
years without major problems. It's really be stable, only requiring one
restore from backup discs once when I had too many programs
installed/uninstalled, but in day to day use, stable as a rock.
tip:
1. install OS, then drivers, then updates from windows update site, then
applications, then application updates, then make user settings adjustments,
and finally backup to CDs.
2. above will let you have a very stable system that'll run years w/o a
problem.
beside that, see www.litepc.com for 98lite - extremely stable 98 installs
with that.
---
anyways, doesn't mean the others won't run either -- everyone's tried them
all, they all run, so pick whatever suits your needs.
