What a better programs or SO to make librettos more fasters ?
I using windows 98 with 98lite.. but it have many bugs, crashes, hangs, system busy, sometimes dont wake up from hibernation (and reboots) sometimes dont wake up from stand by (and reboots).
I was thinkin try a NTWorkstation... its is totally compatible with libreto ? Mouse, Dock (USB from DOCK), PCMCIAs card, hibernationm, standby, utilities (Like save batt etc).
Someone mention about W2k... isnt so heavy to this laptop ? Even 64M RAM?
Programs:
IM: I've tried Miranda, trillian, even original MSN and ICQ... the more lite of theses was miranda IM (the others is so heavy and slow), but even it hangs (or open slownly)a few minutos to open contact list, or open a received message or opena a new message. Anyone knows another MultiIM more lite and faster than Miranda ?
Browser: I've tried ie6 but I never ever really like this. It's take a lot of spyware, its security is weak and if you have many pages open (not tabed of course) and one crashes you loose all of thern. I really really like Mozilla firefox.. but its demands a 15 to 20 seconds to load.. its is so much.. if you using batt so.. the read of HD its critical to time of your batt. At this week i trying the Opera 7.60.. Its fast to open (about 5 - 6 seconds) good to use, have tabs.. and a email client. Likes ideal.. if some pages are incompatible and shows partialy or does not login or aplet java crashs (yeah.. I know. config, cookies e etc. I can open all of these pages.. but somethimes I have to open or accepts all cokies.. and I dont link to set of this mode.. I like to aproval one by one to deny ads cookies.
Mail client: I dont mention to Outlook because this sucks.. I begin with Thunderbird.. it so nice.. but like your brother firefox.. its so heavy. I reallu like (and use in desktop) Eudora Pro 6.2. Its acceptable to run in libretto.. 10 sec to open.. Spam filter..its ok.. but I guess I'll try the M2 (mail client of Opera.. becaus time of open if Opera already opens its about 1 -2 seconds.
Office: Star Office its heavy even to powerfull desktop machines. Lotus Smartsuit... nha : - P So I put Office (MS) 97 because the disk space.
compressor/decompressor: well .. WINRAR opens everything.. and thats ok..
Image viewer: ACDSEE.. I dont test another.. but I accept sugestions.
Movie player: Mplayer 9 or 10 its so slow to open.. I prefer 6.4 with all codec.. play everything too..
CAD: I dont have too much choices.. I use ACAD 14 because HD space.. and CypeCAD becaus I dont have another options HUAHAUHAUH (Yeah. Im Civil Enginner)
Adressbook and organizer: I use Lotus Organizer with XNTDC (Lotus Version) to sync with my Palm, and my SonyEricsson via IR or Bluetooth.
I gues iths all about..
Anyone have a sugestions or comments ?
