It's fine if you run Winamp on the L70 and have a big enough HD to hold all
of the music you have. The quality is quite decent for the Libretto and you
can easily use it as a portable MP3 player on the go or plugged in at
work/home.

Am I the only one who is having problems with the Lib's accupoint mouse conflicting with Winamp? I love Winamp, and because of the vast array of the plugins written for it and its general operation, I swear by it. But every Lib I've put it on has had problems when moving the mouse around. The mouse will skip positions, open up right-click menus without right-clicking.. etc.
The conflict is due to the dance that Winamp, the mouse, and the Yamaha OPL3SAxs ound chip are doing together. When I use my TDK sound card, I have no mouse problems. The sound quality on the TDK is substantially better than that of the built in Yamaha chip. But every one in a while it's just easier to plug headphones or a line out cable into the jack on the back of the Lib.
I've had this problem on my 70, 100, and 110. So it's not just the system, though the Yamaha chips are all pretty much the same (I think).
But I'd really like to fix the annoying glitch the mouse has when navigating Winamp.
I've never had any such problem with running Winamp on either of my Librettos (50CT and 100CT) ... the 50CT ran Win95OSR2 and the 100CT booted 98SE and 2000 (both also booted Red Hat 6.2 but I never got around to trying MP3 playback under that). The only difference I can think of is I used the latest version of Winamp 2 - I never tried any higher on the Librettos (at the time I didn't like 3 so I stopped monitoring Winamp updates until recently). Do your plugins *need* Winamp 5? Otherwise 2 might be an option to try ...
