I am hoping to be able to give XPe a try in the very near future. Assuming that I can manage to find the free time, this would be (IMHO) the most optimum OS to be using. (Unless it somehow becomes possible to put a version of Windows Mobile on here, that is.) The best combination of modern OS glee with a nice and small / speedy footprint... Right now, mine is running an extremely stripped down version of XP (similar to what one could probably achieve using XPLite). It works great for simple browsing, e-mail, and Remote Desktop access... But it's still slower than I like. XPe would probably help that somewhat. If I can only manage to find the time.... -Jeff -----Original Message----- From: Sefton Hanley [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, 22 October, 2005 06.31 To: Libretto Subject: [LIB] XPe (embedded) Date: Sat, 22 Oct 2005 17:29:46 +0700 From: "Sefton Hanley" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: XPe (embedded) I recently nuke and paved my Libretto 110 (64MB) with 98Lite.. Still pretty slow even as a min email and web client (I am sure it wasn't so slow when I first got it).. Has anyone experimented with XP embedded ?? Would be nice to create a small streamlined web browsing email and MP3 playing XP distro.. Instant on features etc.. I read that most XP drivers would work in an XPe distro. Has anyone tried this ?? Also having recently seen thumb drives with Linux distros on there what would be the simplest plug and play linux solution (unsure if I can do without some of the drivers for Bluetooth / my Sony BT phone or outlook contacts system.. All pretty key to what I am doing with the machine).. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
