Subject: Re: [LIB] Lib 50 PC floppy card on Dell C610?

Thanks Matt & Raymond. Getting closer to solving (maybe) the problem. Placed the Toshiba driver into Win95 /System and rebooted. No luck. Looked at the W2K OS and see it lists the PCMCIA cardbus controller as a Texas Inst PCI-1420. I placed the W2K driver into Win95 but it seems it won't work in 95. I'm now assuming that this is the problem since pluging in or removing the card has no affect when I'm using Win95, it doesn't recognize the slot being used with the drivers available. Unless I can get it to recognize the Texas cardbus I may be out of luck in Win95. Any other suggestions or observations?

The Toshiba US website used to have drivers for it (and probably still do) ... look under Libretto 50CT in the support area for the 95 drivers for the floppy drive, you may need to look under 100CT for Win2k ones. I *believe* the drive should work in your Dell with those drivers but it probably won't boot off it (as I understand the Libretto FDD put the PC card slot into a weird mode to get it to boot).

Can the PC card from my 50CT be used on a Dell Latitude C610? How would I address the drivers issue (which drivers to use)? It would be nice to have the CD in use and the floppy PC card rather than swapping out the CD for the floppy which is the way the PC was designed. I'm using Win 95B and Win 2K on the C610, Win 95 is the one that I'm looking to use the PC card on, thanks. - Louis
