I'm not sure what the deal is with that vector, but we were testing it
out today and it appears to work normally. I just committed the chat
stuff to svn so you can check out and test. Beware that 80% of incoming
chat messages are not actually chat text, they're signals such as
"avatar started typing" "avatar is typing" "avatar out of hearing range
said something" etc.
