LibSL still needs work done with ObjectUpdate, TerseObjectUpdate and ObjectUpdateCompressed before we start work on a fully open client. Im trying to work in that direction, but am still a little confused as to how to structure everything.

Good luck. TerseObjectUpdate probably uses some strange bit-packing of fields, and I do believe that ObjectUpdateCompressed might even be compressed using old-skool compress(1). I spent a little bit of time taking a look at them, but put those efforts on old while I tried to figure out http://libsecondlife.org/protocol/index.php/LayerData , and I have another project I'm working on in preparation for SLCC ... but after that I'd be happy to help you slosh back through that, if you'd like.
